Who Receives The Award...
The Jaipal-Julius-Hanna Literary Award aims to provide a platform for original and unpublished works in Adivasi (First Nations) mother tongues, as well as in any Indian language, including Hindi and English. Each year, Adivasi writers are invited to submit original manuscripts in genres such as poetry, short stories, novels, socio-political discourses, and other literary forms. This award welcomes Adivasi creators of all age groups and is committed to recognizing their creativity.
The award includes the publication of the three best-selected manuscripts. Each winner receives 50 complimentary copies of their published book, an advance royalty for 100 copies, and an annual royalty of 10% on book sales. Winners are honored at a grand ceremony in Ranchi, where they receive a traditional shawl, a citation, and a memento. This innovative Award, launched in 2022, has successfully completed three milestones by 2024. Its fourth edition will be held in November 2025.
